Kybele Association takes its name from the ancient Mother Goddess Kybele, a symbol of fertility, creativity, nature and the continuity of life. Archaeological findings in Anatolia show that this powerful figure dates back to 6500–7000 BCE. Across many cultures around the Mediterranean and beyond, Kybele represents care, creation and the interconnectedness of all living beings.
Interestingly, traces of the Kybele cult can also be found in the region where our association was founded, including references preserved in the Museum of Die, reminding us of the deep historical connections that link cultures across time and geography.
Inspired by this universal symbol, Kybele Association was founded in 2022 in Saint Roman, France as an inclusive and collaborative space that brings people together regardless of gender, language, religion or background. Our vision is to create a community where diversity becomes a source of creativity, solidarity and collective growth.
Through artistic, cultural and educational initiatives, Kybele develops local and international projects, events, trainings, exchanges and retreats. Our work focuses on areas such as environmental protection, cultural heritage, education, active citizenship, gender equality and social inclusion.
At Kybele, we believe in learning, creating and transforming together. By using art and culture as tools for dialogue and social change, we aim to empower individuals, strengthen communities and encourage a more inclusive and sustainable future.
